Ancient Apothecary Clove Bud Essential Oil

For topical, aromatherapy or dietary purposes.

Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata), often referred to as clove bud, is an evergreen tree which produces a flower bud that possesses a variety of beneficial properties. While clove was used extensively in ancient Indian and Chinese civilizations, its use didn’t spread to other parts of the world, including Europe, until the seventh and eighth centuries.

Clove oil is often used in toothpastes, mouthwashes and other oral care products. It has natural properties which make it helpful for supporting oral health, but can actually provide many benefits.

The main bioactive element in clove is called eugenol, and clove is also known to support a healthy microbial balance and to help support cardiovascular health.† Likewise, clove oil is a natural insect repellent.

Additionally, a couple drops of clove oil in the mouth can help keep it healthy and refreshed.

General Directions for Use:

Diffusion: Use three to four drops in a diffuser.

Internal use: Dilute one drop in at least 4 fluid ounces of liquid.

Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with a carrier oil of your choice to minimize any skin sensitivity.

Possible skin sensitivity. Consult your physician before use, especially if pregnant, nursing, taking medication or if you have a medical condition. Avoid eyes, mucous membranes, and sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children.
