Day Eighteen

If you feed your anger you will starve your soul.

30 Days of Encouragement - Day Eighteen

by Gail Bowman

If you feed your anger you will starve your soul. What are you angry about today? Has someone injured or slighted you? Sometimes we even feel angry at God for our circumstances. I have to tell you that anger is not a worthwhile use of your energy.

Being angry is exhausting. You have to dwell on it, nurse it, fantasize about possible resolutions, even imagine further slights. On the other hand, if you spend your energy feeding your soul and staying in close communion with God, your anger will get pushed to a backseat where it can not push your pedals. And if your anger is with God, you will not stay angry if you are spending time with Him every day. You cannot serve your anger and truly seek God with all your heart, all your soul and all your might.

Mark 12:30-31
’You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
